Summary As a Senior WordPress Developer you’re the primary lead on WordPress projects, and support the build and maintenance of client sites in WordPress. You’re responsible for maintaining plans, documentation, and backlogs for one or more technical domains, and work with Engineers to burndown any backlog.
Overall You have multiple years of experience in CMS development, with a strong focus on WordPress and building and maintaining custom WordPress plugins. You’ve built websites with WordPress and other OSS. Stronger consideration will go to those who have experience with server-side JS development, object oriented programming, agile workflows, or automated testing.
Responsibilities As the Senior WordPress Developer, you’ll lead all WordPress projects from scoping and strategy, through to building and launch. You’ll have a direct role in development of WordPress sites, and take part in code reviews. Throughout client engagements, you’ll create and update documentation, and keep track of project progress.
Other responsibilities include assisting in the sales process through project estimation, and discovery, as well as working with the Project Management team to generate creative and effective solutions to client issues. You’ll help Zivtech with its involvement in the WordPress community, and other open source initiatives, and assist on internal development projects.
The Dev Team You’ll be a technology leader, and a point of mentorship for members of the development team, and will work effectively with non-technical Zivtech team members. You’ll help your team navigate through projects, identify any issues, and find alternative solutions when problems arise.
Your Toolbox In addition to an advanced command of WordPress, you have experience using git, and are able to work comfortably with Linux command line. You have excellent communication skills, and are able to identify, understand, and implement new technologies.
