Junior UI/Visual Designer

We’re looking for a full-time Junior UI/Visual Designer that will have a hands-on role in the design and creation of engaging and intuitive user interfaces for both internal and client-facing projects. As part of your day-to-day, you will collaborate with the team to drive the delivery of digital applications that feature outstanding user experience and elegant design aesthetics. Additionally, you will assist with marketing design needs as they arise. 

Zivtech is a full-service digital agency that specializes in open-source web development. We work with healthcare, pharmaceuticals, education, government, startups, and nonprofits. We’re a collaborative and tight-knit team that likes Rice Krispies treats, coffee, and communicating via gifs. Responsibilities:

  • Identify problems, recommend implementations, and execute UI solutions to improve the user experience.
  • Create pixel-perfect responsive interfaces and original, eye-catching visual design.
  • Deliver high-quality work on tight schedules in a dynamic, agile product environment.
  • Produce interactive prototypes for internal experimentation and usability testing.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of usability and accessibility standards in partnership with visual and interface design disciplines and principles.
  • Prepare style guides and design specifications with a focus on engineering implementation.
  • Support, communicate, course-correct, and revise through the development phase.
  • Maintain a critical eye and obsessive attention to detail.
  • Assist Marketing Team with promotional materials and collateral as needed. 

What we require:

  • Minimum 1-3 years of UI and visual design experience within a digital agency or product team.
  • Experience leading the development of comprehensive and versatile digital design systems.
  • Basic experience in iconography, symbol design, and data visualization.
  • Expert typesetting and typographic design skills.
  • Deep knowledge of cross-platform web/mobile usability standards and UI specifications.
  • General understanding of the design and technical capabilities/limitations of leading email and browser technology.

What we’d like to see: 

  • With the assistance of the Creative Director, one must be skilled in taking a project from exploratory and conceptual version, through to final production assets.
  • The ability to collaborate with copywriters and business stakeholders for successful marketing related launches.
  • The ability to thrive in an environment where they can multi-task and execute against multiple projects running in parallel paths.
  • Illustration skills a plus!
